Current and Upcoming Fundraisers
Hey Chiefs!
Thanks again to all who donated to the Super Bowl Block Pool fundraiser in recent weeks! We were able to raise $500 for the Girls’ and Boys’ XC/T&F teams, and hopefully it made watching the game a bit more interesting for those who participated! As we head into late February/early March, please keep a look out for a March Madness Bracket fundraiser we are planning to set up.
We also want to make you aware of a couple other Cherokee XC/T&F-Adjacent fundraisers currently underway.
RunningWorks Black Tie and Sneakers Gala!
Lisa’s Fund is named after Lisa Cosentino (nee Grottini), who sadly passed away in 2007 at 46 after a twenty-year fight with cancer. It was at her request that a scholarship fund be established to continue to help students in need have access to high quality coaching, clinics, and summer training.
Lisa’s Fund is named in her honor and aims to be able to provide annual scholarships to attend RunningWorks Cross Country Camp. All monies raised at this event will assist us in continuing to provide annual scholarships in Lisa's honor.
The cost per person includes happy hour and hors d'oeuvres from 6-7, a dinner buffet, dessert, live music & a DJ! Cash bar after 7PM.
Dress code is black tie optional, but be sure to rock your favorite sneakers!

Jess Woodard’s Journey to Paris 2024
Cherokee alum Jess Woodard (Class of 2013) once again will be competing in the U.S. Olympic T&F Trials, with the hope of earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team in the shot put, held in Paris this summer. After a 4th place finish in the U.S. Indoor Championships in Alburquerque last weekend, she seems poised for a big outdoor season! Getting there is not easy, physically, mentally or financially. Jess is hoping to raise some funds to take some of the financial pressures off, as she works to achieve this dream. Here is a blurb from her GoFundMe:
“Between now and June, your donation will go towards several different things (including, but not limited to):
-Living Expenses: Rent, utilities, groceries, etc.
-Medical/Recovery: Physical therapy, recovery equipment, etc.
-Meet Expenses: Meet entry fees, travel expenses and accommodations (airfare, hotel, rental car/gas, food, etc.)
-Miscellaneous: implements (shot puts of various weights), competition clothing, shoes (throwing and training), equipment (chalk, tape)”
If you would like to donate and play a small part in her journey to the Paris 2024 Olympics, you can do so here: GoFundMe Link

Your donations to 4xAlumni have and will continue to fund travel and lodging for championship meets and invitationals, recognition/awards (varsity jackets, for instance) for state championship/high achieving teams and athletes, scholarships for graduating seniors, and much more to come! Thank you for your support.
