The Cherokee boys and girls are competing at Nationals this week - events started on Thursday and run through Sunday.
As a team, they are competing in the Championship sections of relay events (4xMile, DMR, 4x800 for the girls and 4xMile for the boys), Freshman sections, and individual Championship sections (2-Mile, 800 for boys), as well as sending a middle school brother of junior standout Liam Tindall (the future looks bright as he’s seeded at 4:30 in the mile as a middle schooler).
I’ll keep this post short, but the bottom line is this: the Alumni Association has raised funds for events exactly like this. We need your help in helping us help them.
These National meets are not “supported” by the school, which means the coaches, parents, and athletes are on the hook for hotels, entry fees, transportation, and uniforms.
We, the Alumni Association, have gifted the programs a significant amount of money to make this trip possible, but for us to continue helping the current athletes, we need to continually raise money to support them.
Any donations you make this weekend will go directly to supporting Cherokee athletes at THIS NATIONAL meet.
There is no amount too small - and if you don’t have Venmo, but would like to donate, please reply and I’ll (Marc) get you situated.
Your donations to 4xAlumni have and will continue to fund travel and lodging for championship meets and invitationals, recognition/awards (varsity jackets, for instance) for state championship/high achieving teams and athletes, scholarships for graduating seniors, and much more to come! Thank you for your support.
